    percentage of hungry people in the nation

            • More than 250,000 residents are at high
              risk of going hungry

            • 23% of children in the Lowcountry are
              living in poverty

            • One in four children in the Lowcountry
              suffer from malnourishment

            • 28% of Lowcountry families with single
              mothers live in poverty

            • 17% of seniors in coastal South Carolina
              are living in poverty and rely on food pantries

    • Welcomes community volunteers

    • Welcomes sponsorship by area businesses

    • Works with soup kitchens, shelters, and
      food pantries

    • Works with any group serving the hungry

    • Seeks business and community gardens to harvest
