OUR BOARDLeadership & Board of Directors Throughout each year, the members of our leadership group and board of directors commit their talents and strengths to help Fields to Families increase nutrition to our area’s hungry. Board of Directors: Barrett Brewer was born in Clinton, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a double major in English and Philosophy, earning a B.A. in 1998. He graduated from Wake Forest School of Law with a J.D. in 2002. He has been employed at Clawson & Staubes since 2002 and his areas of practice include corporate and business litigation as well as general civil litigation. He is active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization as well as the Elliotborough Neighborhood Association. Phyllis Ford currently serves as chair for the board of directors. She grew up in central Ohio’s farming country. She has lived in South Carolina for many years and through her involvement with the public education system, she has seen the evidence of poor nutrition and its effect on families and young children. Her interest in and support of Fields to Families grew out of her desire to assist families with eating healthfully. Melanie Mathos is inspired by the mission of Fields to Families and is continually amazed at all that is accomplished by its dedicated volunteers. She works with the organization to recruit volunteers and in marketing/public relations. Melanie is the public relations manager at Blackbaud and has a background in nonprofit consulting and in the publishing industry. She has a degree in journalism from Michigan State University. Lindsey Salmony helps Fields to Families by offering her expertise in copywriting, copyediting and graphic design. She attended the University of Colorado’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she earned a degree in news editing. She has several years’ experience in marketing and advertising. Marjorie Veneziano is a founding member of Fields to Families, having joined Jacki Baer to help fill a need of getting fresh produce to those in the Lowcountry who are unable to provide for themselves. Marjorie also served on the board of ‘Plant a Row for the Hungry’. She and her husband settled in Ladson in 1999 and lead a very busy life. |
